Take away the doom and gloom!

Today I took myself away for 30 mins and started creating a Happy Rail…small collection of clothes that make me feel happy over the next few weeks.

It felt more positive than decluttering as I got to choose ‘feel good’ pieces I love to wear

  • The plan is to revive and re-energise your wardrobe this month with these happy pieces.

  • The happy rail must suit your life right now and generate a new love for your clothes.

  • The happy rail will keep you organised, stylish and sane in these frantically strange times.

STEP 1: COLOUR.

Colour is SO important in the winter. Consider your skin tone. Has it changed since the autumn? Is it paler than it was in the summer. Colour will help revive your complexion. Pick out colours that will help.

STEP 2: TEXTURE

Pick out your some happy textures that feel lovely on your skin. I love soft cord, cashmere, wool, silky blouses, velvet and pieces that keep me warm whilst I’m working from home.

STEP 3: VARIETY

A variety of outfits keep me happy. To avoid wearing the same outfit combination pick out a selection of different garments that you can play with. Try to keep the group of colours the same.

STEP 4: COMFORT

Pick garments that feel comfortable and flatter your figure that suit your body shape.

STEP 5: STYLE UP!

Have some fun with your Happy Rail by organising some new happy outfits - add extra omph with accessories or neutral pieces if desired.
