The quilted jacket: Springs style transitional cover up.
Once upon a time, about 4 years ago, I hosted a preloved fashion house party. I left the fashion sale with a quilted ‘grandma style’ dressing gown!
‘I’m going to wear this out-out with denim and then in-in when I’m lounging - I’ll keep it forever!
‘You are utterly bonkers’ roared my friends., but I happily rocked it through Spring and it was perfect for alfresco meals in 2020!
This season, it appears the quilted vintage jacket is your spring style transitional cover up. The upgrade to ‘what to wear with jeans’ look.
Not only will it keep you warm, but it will add a little bit of boho to your style - a massive trend this season.
How to style? Simply.
Denim + t-shirt works best although Me&Em and Phase Eight have done a fabulous job at make it office style friendly. Keep base layer simple and tonal.
A fine knit merino polo would also work, as does a t-shirt or a little frilled cotton blouse.
If you are fearful of wearing a printed jacket, this could be a place to start.
TIP: don't just look on the high street: there are so many vintage patchwork jackets on etsy and in vintage stores.
Want a more structured style ? you’ll have to pay more.
Enjoy!
